Joseph Drouhin 2004 Beaujolais Nouveau

We are just back from a weekend in Seattle, where we visited with all available family and friends and stocked up on necessary supplies at Trader Joe's, Seattle Restaurant Supply, and Esquin. This being November, it's time again for Beaujolais Nouveau, that young fun light and fruity red that's a mere 6 weeks post-harvest.

We bought 4 bottles at Esquin, 2 each of Joseph Drouhin, 1 of Terre Doree L'Ancien, and 1 of Pierre Something (I'll correct when we drink it). We've had the Joseph Drouhin for 2 years running and have found it excellent. No change for this year. I'm looking at a glass right now, and it's a lovely red raspberry color. The nose is cheerful and full of cranberries and spice. The fruit is top quality, bright with cherry notes. It dances in your mouth.

I like the label too - red with silhouette carousel horses and fireworks in the sky.
