You can get free music downloads just about anywhere these days, including, as I just discovered, in packages of lunchmeat. Carl Buddig includes an access code for one free download from Puretracks (no, I’d never heard of them either) with each package of lunchmeat they sell. No problem there, except for the yuck factor: the access code is packaged inside the plastic wrap right next to the meat itself, so what you get is a little rectangle of paper coated with a clear, greasy liquid that needs to somehow be peeled apart in order to read the code.

Is it really worth all that to save 99 cents?
